Before I started grooming, I was a kennel attendant and vet tech for many years . So I had a lot of behavioral dog and cat background . My career started back in 2012 when I worked for corporate, and that suit and tie life was not for me . I liked creative grooming and grooming senior dogs and dogs with behavioral issues, and I was not able to do any of that there . When I left, I noticed not only was I mistreated but I was often taken advantage of, and all that seemed to matter was more dogs and more money . So I left and, spur of the moment, opened my own salon called Clipper Doodle Do. I outgrew my first salon and upgraded to 1,000 sq feet . I was very happy alone but noticed something about me that wasn’t fulfilled . I had a deep yearning to help other people get into the grooming industry that otherwise couldn’t pay thousands to train or had to take months off work to train. I created a grooming trade program during COVID when the world opened back up and businesses were asking me to train groomers because I was training dog groomers on the side to get more groomers in the area .
